Really Scary Photograph

This image is going to appear in many of my future nightmares (and I have a lot). I see no reason for me to suffer alone.

Young Believers -- Fear Walks With You

Young Believers -- Fear Walks With You. Love the song enough to buy it. The video's a bit of a wasted opportunity, though.

Vintage Christmas Shopping

This is the first ever year where I just can't work up any enthusiasm about Christmas; I'm usually a maniac for it. Might be something to do with the fact that every possible thing that could fall apart in this house has done so in the last few weeks (bathroom ceiling fell in last night, boiler needs attention, washing machine playing up, electrics need looked at...) So -- I'm thinking bills and not purchases. Damn and blast it.

I might be forced to buy everyone a Toberone as a token gift. Here's a photograph of some women Christmas shopping, circa 1910. Big hats -- I always love a big hat -- the one on the right looks as if she has an entire bird on hers. I'd do that -- if a could rig up some contraption that made it move its wings and open its beak every now and then. Maybe lay an egg. No birdshit, though.

Lost Time

Here's a vintage photograph of a group of college girls circa 1927 ( via Lost Splendor). I'm calling them college girls but the photo is from Holton Arms school  -- so I guess they were just about to graduate. They mostly have the same kind of hairstyle but clock the girl on the back row, third from the right -- she looks quite contemporary and has a bit of androgynous look going on.

Metro Station -- Control

Old Metro Station song -- I think Trace has left the band now. I like his voice (and the video).

Adam Levine's Voice

I like the voice of Adam Levine from Maroon 5 (even though someone here just said to me that it is on the whiny side...) -- and  the MILF video.

Couple Kissing

Not the kind of photograph I usually put on here but I think it is kind of sweet -- the couple being so intimate and that big wide world outside their window. A re-blog from my Tumblr blog -- originally from Unpredictable-Stories.

Vintage Skiers Photograph

Old photograph of a bunch of skiers, somewhere in France. Weird to think we could have snow pretty soon, I'm still stuck in summer mode; I'm working from home most of the time just now, so it's always weird when I stick my head out the door and I see real-life weather out there. At some point last week I didn't know what day it was  -- living a kind of half-life until my project is finished.

Ryan Gosling being Funny

Ryan Gosling is brilliant on talk shows -- as in brilliant-funny.  I love the 'you can't console me with my fear' line. Great voice too. George is a bit of a cutie too -- first dog I've seen with a Mohawk. I don't want to put too many You Tube videos on here but if you like Ryan Gosling interviews check out the Ellen Degeneres clips with the onesies. My family are going to get a great big cuddly surprise this Christmas because I'm going to buy them all on onesies (with feet). Most of my family are men but they are getting a onesies whether they want one or not. My secret is safe, because I've not told them about this blog and the probably wouldn't read it even if I did.

And why women love Ryan Gosling.

Keat's Letters

I have a ton of work to do -- so I'm reading Keats's Letters. Procrastination of the finest order.
Here on Project Gutenberg and here (a sweet letter to Fanny Brawne).

And Ode to a Nightingale -- I don't know why.

Frankie Cocozza -- not a Motorcycle

Some people (quite a lot of them, actually) love to hate Frankie Cocozza, but I'm not one of them. Now he has a new single out and that is getting a fair amount of hate too. When you first hear She's Got a Motorcycle  it's nearly impossible to avoid having a WTF moment, especially when you look at his various contortions on the video.
And, being Frankie -- we're not really talking motorcycles here. Anyway, the song is as catchy as hell, once you get over the annoyance of it...

Here's an interview with Frankie at Sugar Hut. He's pissed or whatever but comes across as a genuine, funny guy. Tons of bad language, including truckloads of the c-word but with a really important message at the end of it. Plus he's from lovely, lovely Brighton. I hope he does well.
